We are on a mission to deliver 30 fully funded (free to you) Lifestyle Medicine Courses from Autumn 2024 to Autumn 2026. Key health concerns and conditions that we aim to focus on include:

• Metabolic health (for people with two or more risk factors for cardiovascular disease - high blood pressure, obesity, impaired fasting glucose, high triglycerides, unhealthy cholesterol levels)
• Cancer Recovery
• Brain Health (for people with mild cognitive impairment or concerned about future brain health)
• Mental health - for people living stressful lives and at risk of burn out

Starting in January 2025 -  a free 12 week in-person course.

This course is designed specifically for individuals diagnosed or at risk of metabolic syndrome - with at least two metabolic health conditions including being overweight, having high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol, or pre-diabetes. Led by local certified lifestyle medicine professionals, Dr Jo Darwood (local GP), and Lauren Perchard-Rees (Healthcare Professional) who have over 40 years of combined experience in health care and are passionate about supporting people to achieve better health whilst creating a community for ongoing support. 

Courses will be held at various locations and times over a 12-week period, with core 60-90 minute sessions on alternate weeks, covering topics such as nutrition, movement, stress management, sleep, and social connections. Optional practical sessions will offer participants hands-on experience with activities discussed in the educational sessions. 

A recent participant, Ronni from St. Martin’s, who joined the pilot programme earlier this year for people living with pre-diabetes, shared, "I’m so happy with my results, so enthusiastic about this way of living, and grateful to have had the opportunity to attend."
